Chinese Scholarships

The China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as “CSC”), entrusted by China’s Ministry of Education, is responsible for the admission, enrollment and administration of Chinese Government Scholarship recipients. Chinese Government Scholarship programs sponsor undergraduates, postgraduates, general and senior scholars.

Methods to Apply

These scholarships are awarded to students in two different ways:
(a) Direct universities Method
Students have to prepare their application material and submit it to the university directly. 
(b) Chinese embassies 
Apply through Chinese embassies in applicant countries, which have diplomatic relations with China.  As for embassy application is concerned, embassies generally receive applications in other countries via some Higher Education Institute / Ministry of Education of that country. Scholarship via embassy is also called “Bilateral Program”

Scholarship Coverage

  • Tuition fees;
  • Free university dormitory or accommodation subsidy;
  • Stipend:
    1. Undergraduates: CNY 2,500 per month;
    2. Master’s students/general scholars: CNY 3,000 per month;
    3. Doctoral students/senior scholars: CNY 3,500 per month.
  • Comprehensive medical insurance:
    1. CNY 800 per person per year;
    2. CNY 400 per person (for programs lasting less than six months)

 

Application

CGS application procedure is very simple and students can prepare their application easily. Students do not need to consult and pay money to any agent/ consultant. CSC/Chinese universities don't have authorized agents/consultants anywhere. If someone claims so, he fakes and does the illegal activity.
