Dear all, while you are searching for MEXT University recommended scholarships, you must look at universities own scholarships, which are of many type, but we are discussing two types
(i) Different Scholarships
There are different tuition fee waiver and stipend scholarships, you can visit 775 universities websites in Japan and check if some scholarship posted there is feasible for you, then apply for it. MEXT or JICA or not any other agency will be involved in it. University will be giving you its scholarship by its own fund or some Japanese companies Fund.
(ii) Professor Recommended
There are some scholarships in many Japanese Universities which require professor acceptance or consent. So, in any case do contact professors and also check on universities websites if you can apply for find and apply such scholarships after getting consent from professor

Contact Supervisors for Acceptance
The acceptance from prospective supervisor from Japanese university is the most important and Mandatory for MEXT. Applicants must find a prospective supervisor at selected university and thoroughly communicate with him/her, and
then obtain his/her approval before applying. An acceptance can be obtained by contacting a Japanese teacher who will agree to accept you in his research group. Students can find some good teachers by finding email addresses from the university website. Students can also search for teachers from, research papers published by teachers. For this, you can search in “Google Scholar” like “Topic + university name“. After you find some good research papers matching your research field, you can obtain the email of the corresponding author and contact him. You can send an email to him in which you will briefly explain your research interest, urge him to study in that university under a scholarship. Then after positive responses from professors, apply for admissions through MEXT and get yourself nominated as a MEXT fellow of the university.
